End of Katekyo Hitman Reborn Manga

As you may, or may not know, one of the famous manga that is serialized in Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump Katekyo Hitman Reborn is coming to a end on November 12th 2012. The manga has been running since 2004 with 40+ volumes and with more than 400 chapters. However as fans we should have all seen the end of the manga coming from the more recent chapters. It's sad that this manga is coming to an end especially if it's about a Japanese teen and a baby mafioso (something you don't see everyday).

Code: Breaker Volume 1 Review

Code: Breaker Volume 1

Alternative Title:

English - Code:Breaker
Japanese - コード:ブレイカー

Author:

Akimine Kamijyo

Genre:

Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural

Volume Rating:

★★★★☆☆

Code: Breaker is one of my favourite manga. If you want to compare Code: Breaker to any other manga, it would be Death Note. Both of them base on criminal elementals that threaten our society. The protagonists from both series try to seek for justice base on their own judgement. The first impression we have with the main character, Ogami, is him standing alone in the burning blue flames that is buring others to death while the girl named, Sakura, sees this scene on the travelling bus.

We also find out that Ogami and Sakura are shown to be completely opposite characters. Ogami is first shockingly introduced as a new transfer student. He seems to be pleasant and kind teenager and he also get alone with other classmate as well. However, Sakura immediately realizes Ogami is the one who uses blue flames to burn people to death. Sakura tried to keep others out of the dangerous, but she also runs into a lot of confusions.

Later on in this volume, Sakura and Ogami are conversing in the park. As their conservation goes on, they encounter a dog which its previous owner was killed by the gang name G-Falcon. Sakura decides to name the dog's name as "Dog". A little while latter, Sakura is found to be a quite amazing martial artist when she sees the G-Falcons attacking public citizens in the park. Unfortunately, she is captured by the gang. As the gang is trying to "attack" Sakura, the "Dog", which previously avoided Sakura and seems to get alon with Ogami in the park, attacks the gang to protect Sakura. The Dog is easily beaten by the group. When Dog is on the edge of survival, Ogami shows up. Shockingly, Ogami's first move is to end the Dog's life. He uses his supernatural ability, the burning blue flame, to kill one of the gang members, and says the most famous line in this manga series, "A tooth for a tooth. And Evil for evil."

Sakura later wake up and find herself slept in the park over night. She terrifies the event clip that she remembers that happened last night. She immediately reported it to the police, but the officer says that it just a campfire that someone else set up. When the officer asks again what Sakura saw last night, Sakura realizes she is jeopardizing her life. Wishing she can find some answers, Sakura returns to school and asks Ogami to walk her home after school. She purposely chooses public area where a lot of people are present to ensure others and her safety as she questions Ogami on their way. Nevertheless, Ogami say that even though he burns everyone in the area he won't get punished. Ogami immediately tried to burn Sakura to ashes after his reasoning because "the witness must be vanished". When Ogami is just about to turn Sakura into ashes, Ogami says that he is just kidding. However, it turns out to be Ogami cannot set Sakura on fire as he reports to the person on his cell. It leads to a mystery of Sakura's background and Sakura's ability to avoid any other supernatural power latter on the manga series.

I highly recommend Code: Breaker to manga lovers not only because its intensity, but also the mystery and evil background behind the story line. If you are one of Death Note or Code Geass fans, you should give it a try!

Cheers

Beelzebub - Kunieda Aoi

Beelzebub - Kunieda Aoi

Age: 17
Height: 165cm
Birthday: May 15
Sign : Taurus
Occupation : Delinquent high school student, Shrine maiden

Aoi is 17 years old, a second-year student and the third leader of the "strongest ladies of Kantou", the Red Tails. She is first introduced in disguise at the park taking care of her baby brother, Kouta, who is constantly mistaken as being Aoi's own child by the mothers at the park. She is the daughter of a local temple keeper. Her nickname is Queen because she is the protector of all the girls at Ishiyama High from the men's "grubby hands". Because of Oga's dense personality, he has yet to realize that the girl he befriended at the park and Kunieda are one and the same. Despite her tough personality, she has a rather girlish crush on Oga but refuses to admit this fact to others. She can feel Saotome using his demon power, which shows she has notable strength for a human.

Kunieda differs from the other thugs at Ishiyama in that she has formal martial arts training from her grandfather, the master of the shingetsu style. She is also not a bully, and steers the leadership of the Red Tails towards preventing unnecessary fights in the school. This is what puts her first in collision course with Oga, as the latter is deemed by her to be responsible for most of recent violent events in the school. They have two exchanges: in neither does Oga return her attacks, limiting himself to evade them, first to let baby Beel assess her strength and thus find out whether she is a potential replacement for him; later, because a failure in communication leads Oga to believe that Kunieda's condition to take Beel is that he should resist her charges. She is greatly impressed by Oga's speed and power, and misunderstands his advances on her (to get rid of Beel) as romantic interest. After he saves her from a plot by the MK5, she decides to leave the Red Tails and become a more disciplined person, and at the same time her crush on Oga increases. Later, she and the Red Tails intervene to stop the whole male student body of Ishiyama from attacking Oga, allowing him to proceed to a confrontation with Toujou unhindered.

She at first harboured some jealousy against Hilda, seeing her as a potential rival for Oga, but on discovering the truth about her and Baby Beel's true nature, their animosity becomes less pronounced. Later, it is Hilda who becomes jealous of Beel's attachment to Kunieda.

She is a skilled swordswoman and martial artist, and possesses an immense amount of vitality and stamina, as well as impressive speed that is above Sakaki Mitsuteru's, who is known to be able to wield his sword at 250 km/h (however, she is not fast enough to hit Oga, who manages to evade even her best attacks with minor injuries). She can use any weapon she chooses in battle, and has even been shown to fight with nothing more than a ruler. She has shown the ability to assess opponents' strengths and weaknesses very quickly. Despite all this however, Hilda has noted that Kunieda is still below Oga's level in terms of battle capabilities.
