BLUE - Story (Spoiler)

Trauma Quantum Crystal is a nice dramatic action manga. It contains series of humorous scenes when the main character, Tokitou, undergoes numerous dilemmas. Tokitou is one of my favourable character who expresses the quality of man when the time stopped. Aoki introduced the characters by the following abnormal events. From time stop to monstrous creatures,  the series of supernatural events lead present of the character called Sakazaki. Her character and personality is somehow odd in the way that she is continuously convincing Tokitou to believe her. Because of the receptive of the word "Trust", it made me to doubt her.

It sure was something to when the quantum crystal watch was introduced. It has special ability to transform into a powerful weapon that may has the ability to change time. Just how powerful are those weapons that can kill a gigantic creature coming from nowhere!

Overall, I think the art was well drawn and the story was very creative, especially the Tokitou's action from the first few pages. The hook of the story is created with the involvement of these interesting characters. Most thought-provoking words that were written on the cover is "We are the ultimate abnormal humans!" Latter on in the series, we can probably find some kind of connection between these characters. What is does it means by "abnormal humans"? What is going to happen next?!

BLUE - Story (Spoiler)

Here we come to the end of the arguably the biggest M of manga history! MM! manga series have also be known as Emu Emu! by other popular manga sources. The manga describes the story of the main character called Sado Tarou is trying to get rid of the "problem"with his body. The story is highly humorous and ecchi. It entertains people with the Sado's ultimate Mness. In the end when Sado overcame his "problem" by losing his memories; however, it led to our dissatisfaction which perhaps result in the end of the manga. The final twist of its fantastic ending is with Sado's Mness return. The story suddenly fall into its proper place and everything is quickly sum up. Matsuno created a happy ending that most people will hopefully enjoy.

I enjoyed the technique used by Masuno by using the sudden twist. It was quite entertaining once it is present with the return of our beloved Big M! Overall, I think the story made an excellent example of the both irony and twist. The storyline is also quite acceptable unlike the other manga just went without explanation and clarity. I highly recommend the manga once the english translation is out.

Code: Breaker Chapter 16 Review

Alternative Title:

Chapter Rating:

"What lies beneath the innocent facade?"

Kanada Sensei had appeared to be the secret behind Ogami's private work phone in the last chapter. Unlike the cold-hearted Ogami, Kanada seemed to be a character full of great emotions. Her expressions had showed to be extremely humorous and funny. To have energetic character, the manga suddenly became more entertaining; however, what is her true identity?

The next day after the fight with Noguchi, Kanada sensei announced the terrible news to the fellow classmates that Noguchi kun's family had moved due to family issue. I felt bad laughing at the tricked disappointed-students and Kanada's lying skills. I think the scene was originally meant to show true nature of the dark side of our society, but Kamijyo made such a sad scene seemed soft and humorous. He had really done a great job of twisting the mood and atmosphere of the story.

Trying to seeking for an answer from Kanada sensei, Sakura encountered Henji senpei on the hallway drinking tea with a nice comfortable desk. With Henji senpei's appearance, we immediately knew he should be someone important because he is shown on the cover of the manga. He was not only drinking tea in the hallway, but also looking at HENTAI MAGAZINE! This was where we all smashed our fist on the desk wondering why we don't get to do something like this someday. During the conversation between Sakura and Henji, we realized something is going to happened when Henji said, "I can see your dead zone."

There was an unanticipated surprise when Sakura entered the gym trying to find Kanada. The scene was actually quite dramatic which showed Kanada's killing skills. Most importantly, She actually used ordinary stationary as weapons to against her enemies. I was very amazed by the potential hazard that ordinary things around us can done to us. After the shock, Kanada claim that she is an agent who serve the Code: Breaker as master. She is someone whose duty is to provide support, protection, and information for Code: Breaker.

In this chapter, Kamijyo also introduced the greatest weakness of Code: Breaker. Apparently, Ogami collapsed because of the overuse of his power. Ogami's body temperature drained and felt powerless. This is something interesting because we finally knew the limit of the Code: Breakers. On the other hand, Sakura was the one who was glad about it because Ogami cannot hurt anyone in the next 24 hours. After that Toki suddenly showed up and stated that Sakura was being targeted. Who could have been targeting her? Is it Henji senpei?

Code: Breaker Chapter 15 Review

Alternative Title:

English - Code:Breaker
Japanese - コード:ブレイカー

Akimine Kamijyo

Genre:

Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural

Chapter Rating:

Story
---------------------------------------------------------

Moving on Volume 3, I opened the first page with no hesitation. Without any disappointment, the first page appeared to be the arsonist showing up, but mostly importantly it has a little ecchi content.  Koguchi kun returned as a villain instead of our friendly old friend with Ogami. He now showed no tolerance toward any others, but to seek for violence and slaughter. He even stated, "The reason why people can't tell you the reason to not kill people is actually because everyone has the desire of wanting to try the taste of killing somebody at least once".

As Koguchi kun was threatening Sakura, he used the puppy as a sacrifice. I found this scene as a little bit sexual when Sakura was tight up and stept by Koguchi with his foot. It really stunned me when the boom around puppy's neck exploded in the corner of the building. It is just usually for the author to eliminate a character with no dramatic conflict and significance involving the character itself.

As it turned out, we were all tricked by Kamijyo. Ogami appeared to be standing right beside the corner. It was the point where Ogami oddly turned into a saver. His appearance led Koguchi into frustration which result in Koguchi used all his planted boom in the surrounding building as weapon against Ogami.

Ogami of course managed to avoid Koguchi's attack without problem with his ability to control flames. As Koguchi fell into despair, Ogami handed his hand to him. Ironically, Ogami burned him into ashes when Koguchi gave him his complete trust.

After the chaotic incident was solved, Ogami suddenly collapse. Just when Sakura was left into this confusion, she answered Ogami's ringing work phone. Shockingly, it turned out to be Kanda Sensei, their school teacher was on the phone.

Impression
---------------------------------------------------------
I was amazing by how Kamijyo connect the event by the use of irony, intensity, and mystery. The use of terms such as "that person" made us question the possibility of a large organization behind the events. The unanswered questions turned into mystery, and it successfully dragged us into the story. The ending ended with school teacher was the one handing down the missions could lead the story to series of paths. It engaged us to look more into the events as we question mystery.

Air Gear Final Chapter Review

Alternative Title:

English - Air Gear
Japanese - エア・ギア

Author:

Oh! Great

Genre:

Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Shounen, Sports

Chapter Rating:

★★★★★★

Air Gear had finally finished! The manga ended with total of 357 exclusive chapters. For this review, I used the Chinese version because the English version has currently only up to 354 wich is 3 more chapters away. I wanted to share this amazing ending which I rated 6 out 6 stars as soon as possible.

The final chapter used the technique of flashing back and forth which sometimes confuses the reader; however, in this case, Air Gear has showed it success! The technique is well developed in the way that how the pages and events are linked. It flowed from relax to intense and light to serious. Everything is very cohesive and connected.

The final major shock we had in this manga ended with Ikki saving the super villain Sora. Ikki's had again showed his personality trait as moral justice despite of his arrogance. At this point, Sora saw the image of Kilik when he lost his wings from the fight with Ikki.

As everything began to settle in the manga. Another scene that you may be interested is that Emily finally proposed to Kazu during a musical band concert, which is formed by most people from the Sleeping Forest. Kazu answered her proposal with a salute, and said, "Yes". I think this is the most touching moment of this chapter because of Emily's cuteness. If Kazu denied, I would probably blame him for disgrace of mankind.

The manga ended with all the Ikki and the others racing and yelled, "We are Kogarasumaru~~~~~".

Code: Breaker Chapter 13 and 14 Review

Alternative Title:

English - Code:Breaker
Japanese - コード:ブレイカー

Author:

Akimine Kamijyo

Genre:

Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural

Volume 1 Review Post:

Now we are approaching the end of Volume 2, I would like to quickly wrap things up instead of keeping you waiting. The manga quickly switches its mood between these two chapters. When everything just begin to settle, another event starts to emerge. This technique has been used in a lot of serious of anime and manga; however, there are a few anime and manga, such as Dragon Ball Z, like to have the moment of peace. These manga and anime become lengthly, and we begin to loss our interest. In this case, Code: Breaker continues to keep us entertained. It keeps us wondering what is happening next?

Chapter 13:

Chapter Rating: ★★★★☆☆

After the battle with Tabata, Ogami and Sakura returned to their ordinary school lives. We began to see Ogami was loved by his peers even though he was going to endanger their lives before opening to door. Although as readers we weren't expecting a welcoming party in the classroom, we still found the shift of Ogami's expression was extremely entertaining. This is where we found Ogami was accepted and loved by his peers. Nevertheless, the most incomprehensible part that I found before this moment is that he even received a love letter, and latter toss it away! As a man, I have to show my jealousy and to feel envy of such act.

If you will excuse me, I have to point of the most hilarious part of this scene. THIS SCENE! Why is there a giant guy holding a bigini poster to greet Ogami?

After the party, we found ourselves seeing Ogami and Sakura on the roof of the school building. And we all wished for an unexpected proposal. This is where Ogami showed his cold blooded reaction at first. Ogami burnt the welcome booklet with all the classmates' signature on it, but we latter found that Ogami had already memorized every single detail on it. Sakura's expression showed that as if she was touched by such Ogami.

Chapter 14:

Chapter Rating: ★★★★☆☆

We found ourselves in the middle of the conversation of an arsonist; however, a guy named, Noguchi, suddenly came out and claimed to know Ogami. He called Ogami by the name Kakoshima, but Ogami seemed confused and do not know what he was talking about. It started to show the awareness of Ogami's memories being erased. Latter on Ogami explained to Sakura that his name, nationality, residential registration, and even memories were erase when he became a Code: Breaker. I sympathize him for this reason despite of him tossing a love letter away.

After Ogami's explanation, we found Sakura fighting crime on herself to try to search for the arsonist who was causing series of catastrophes in the city. The chapter ended, with Noguchi's sudden appearance as the arsonist and Sakura ended up in the flash of flame burst.

"SAKURA IS IN DANGER!! FACING THE EVIL OF AN OLD FRIEND, WHAT ACTION WILL OGAMI REI TAKE!?"

Code: Breaker Chapter 12 Review

Alternative Title:

English - Code:Breaker

Genre:

Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural

Chapter Rating:

Story
=====================================
The battle is beginning to draw its conclusion. With Tabata's daughter appearance, Ogami didn't seem to change his motive after his dramatic expression change. Sakura immediately realized the danger Ogami was going to forever changed a young girl's life. Instead of persuading Ogami, Sakura's action shocked me. She ran and hug Tabata as a shield against Ogami. This was out of my usual expectation of an ordinary teenage girl would do in a situation like this. I would never image to protect a villain that might turned me into a hostage or threaten my life. Sakura here represent the justice that we were taught as children. She is the absolute justice that conflict the opposite of the Code: Breakers. She carried out her own justice of evil people can still change and live. On the other hand, the puppy's innocent face made me wanted to laugh. Here we were having quite a dramatic scene, the puppy's expression has a degree of understanding and caring attitude toward Tabata and Sakura's action. I found it interesting to see how all the characters flow in this intense moment.

We were finally seeing some morality in Tabata when he was turning himself into an absolute villain in front of his daughter. In this moment with Ogami as a hero and Tabata as a vilain, we found the love between a father and a daughter. As it turned out Tabata was trying to look for the rare organs that can cure his daughter disability. This scene contains a high level of understanding and touching attitude that deeply effected the readers. Ogami acted out as a hero who destroyed Tabata and the building itself. The chapter ended with Sakura questioning Ogami's definition of a hero. And Ogami's answer was that a person could never become a true hero. We now see the different between Ogami and Toki's sense of justice, and understand why Ogami and Toki don't get alone with each other.

Impression
=====================================
As we gradually go into to different character's personality trait, we are gradually drawn into the story. Ogami and Sakura have now develop a bond that will not be easily broken by any forces. The storyline is successful in the way of portraying the role of individual characters, especially with all kinds of characters in the same scene. The technique is not easily develop, but the flow of the story in my opinion is a bit slow. Overall the manga is quite well done.

Code: Breaker Chapter 11 Review

Alternative Title:

English - Code:Breaker
Japanese - コード:ブレイカー

Author:

Akimine Kamijyo

Genre:

Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural

Chapter Rating:

★★★★☆☆

With Tabata's shocking appearance in the last chapter, Ogami swore to turn him into ashes. Sakura tried to prevent this massive murder; however, she was stopped by a desperate victim. The victim described his son was cut up and sold to someone else, and begged Ogami to kill the enemies. Toki latter described the elements that make a hero to Sakura. "Is Hero of Justice a hero because he kills bad guys?" I found that point particular interesting and profound. Could killing be justified as justice or it is just a massive slaughter?

There we came to face the psycho body guards. They claimed themselves as surgens and excellent assassins. They cannot even remember how many people they killed. The thing that shocked me right after their appearance was that Ogami actually remember how many people he has killed. The expression the guards were so helpless as Ogami used his ability on them. It created the irony of the guards crying for help instead. The effort the author put into the plot really did intrigue me.

Now with the body guards down, Ogami finished the patient's life. It might be seemed as cruel, but it was a relief to him as we saw his final appreciation. It was the part that we get more into Ogami's character. I sensed the sadness behind his back and grew pity of the patient. It was definitely one a meaningful scene.

It was time for the judgement of Tabata; however it was interrupted with Tabata's daughter's appearance. The mood of the scene suddenly changed, especially with Ogami's expression. What would this bring to the situation?

Code: Breaker Chapter 10 Review

Alternative Title:

English - Code:Breaker
Japanese - コード:ブレイカー

Author:

Akimine Kamijyo

Genre:

Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, Super Power, Supernatural

Chapter Rating:

★★★★★☆

The battle continued! This chapter really impressed me with Toki's moves. He showed a reasonable level of concerning Sakura's safety, but he obviously still remained to be seemed as a delinquent. His sense of judgement had gave into Sakura's influence even though Sakura was trying to protect the enemies' lives. It is good to a kind hearted character sometimes in mangas. In this case, Sakura's attitude was successful; she introduced a lot of humour into an intense story plot line like this one.

In this alliance, we have three completely different characters caring different judgments and attitudes. Toki, Ogami, Sakura often found themselves arguing each others; however, at this stage, it somehow created a balance between them.

The most trilling discovery that we found in this chapter is Toki's power. As we craving for the answer of his supernatural ability, we found out that his a magnetism-controlling Code: Breaker. His ability allowed him to control any metals including the enemies' bullets. Toki easily wiped out enemy force within a period of seconds. This of course, leads to Toki and Ogami's argument about who is the stronger one. Both of the refused to gave in.

Ogami and Toki's conflict ended with Ogami burnt out Toki's cigarette. At this point, it is pretty clear that Toki's power is stronger than Ogami's. I found that it is particular interesting because usually in manga, the plot line is more centralize in the the protagonist, in this case Ogami. I personally think Kamijyo, the author, is trying to have multi-character revolving around the main character and act as a catalyst toward Ogami's growth. At any rate, the tension between Ogami and Toki continued with both side would not back down.

As the group enters the enemy's basement, we found out that Tabata, the rutten politician, was trading human organs as his business. These organs are not only from adults, but also from innocent children. These illegal organs were from innocent people. As these people were targeted and captured, their organs would be taken away from them and these people would disappear. Those organs were again resold in heavy price to poor people who are in need of them. This the point that Ogmi said that Tabata is one of the many people who should die. What would happend between the battle between justice and evil?
